The Dead
“For when the Fracture happens, the Dead shall rise again.”
Illust. Marco González
Long before the age of the Living, Morbidia was ruled by one only known as the Great Evil. The Great Evil reigned long, hosting and proliferating Axhol through the Death Esa. From it, the Dead was born out of decaying flesh and bones, answering to the Great Evil’s call. The Dead was its army, and with it, the Great Evil dominated Morbidia.
For as long as any Living could remember, the Dead will and always will be the enemy of the Living. Many centuries had the Living endured the Dead’s onslaught. Many centuries, the Living had survived. And when salvation came through the arrival of the three great Angels – Samael, Mikael and Ofaniel – the Great Evil was finally defeated and the Living triumphed over the Dead.
The Living grew strong. The Living grew powerful. The Living grew corrupted.
As Morbidia’s history suggested, the realm had a way of maintaining balance. The Fracture brought back Death onto Morbidia, instigated by none other than the progenitor of a dark art known as Death Summoning.
Kadmon – the First Death Summoner – toppled the growing strength of the Living and brought forth a new Dark Age of Morbidia. A world where not only decaying flesh and bones marched on the Great Plains, but ghosts loomed over the sky and cursed Living slaughtered one another.
