The Order of Knights in Verdania was known for their prowess in swordsmanship and their tenacity in battle. During Verdant’s Conquest, the Verdanii Knights were Verdania’s greatest weapon. Regiments of Verdanii Knights would invade towns in the Southern Nations and delivered an ultimatum. Submit under Verdania’s rule and worship the Archangel Samael. Or bear the Angel’s judgment and perish as a heretic.

Their armour was built from the finest iron in Verdania. Exemplified on that armour was the Mark of Verdant—the King’s Mark. It was a declaration that the loyalty of the knights was to the king of Verdania and no one else. It is ashen grey in colour—dull and ruthless. Lower ranking knights would wear only a plain tunic, cheap gambeson under their armour. However, among the knights, there were Verdanii Dawnborns. They wore a sarfrang underneath their armour, flourishing a more elaborate colour and their Lineage’s coat of arms.

The knights basic arsenal always consist of a sword and a pistol. Each weapons were to represent Mikael and Ofaniel respectively. They also carried two pouches. One to contain bullets and the other to contain vials of malasence which they would use only in dire circumstances.

The number of armoured cadavers were not as much as other Undead after the Fracture. Because most Verdanii Knights were bearer of the Mark of Verdant, they were bound to becoming Horrors. After several days, the Southerners realised this and commenced a knight hunt throughout the Southern Nations. The Verdanii knights who remained in the Southern Nations at the end of Verdant’s Conquest were murdered and their corpses were desecrated. But the Death Esa was unbiased and unprejudiced. It seeped into dead knights treating them like any other corpses in Morbidia.

Armoured cadavers were among the few Undead that could be found inside the Ruins of Verdania, coexisting with the Horrors. Many were still assembling in the Ashen Keep, waiting for orders from the First Death Summoner.
