Gameplay Formats
Legions of Kadmon can be pretty strict when it comes to rules, but the length of the game can be controlled by the amount of Sovereigns you include in the starting Crown. The dynamic of the game will also change slightly due to the different rules a Sovereign imposes and the Unit Type of each Sovereigns. In the current version of the game, you can try out the following formats.
Standard
Includes 3 Sovereigns, the Fragment of the Great Evil and Kadmon in the Crown. There are some templates that you can try:
Cardinal
This is the most basic of all four combinations. It’ll give a nice balance of Unit Type.
Playtime: 60 to 90 minutes
Recommended Players: 2 – 4 Players
Sovereigns:

These Sovereigns have mechanics that are simpler to understand compared to the others. The aim of this format is to get Players to be more familiar with the game.
Full Gauntlet
This is the full version of the game. All Sovereigns are included in the starting Crown. This format will allow you to experience the different abilities each Sovereigns have. The game’s length will be longer, giving you more chance to build Unit Type Bonuses and bounce back from a failing strategy or unfortunate encounters.
Playtime: 120 – 240 minutes
Recommended Players: 4
Build Your Own Crown
You can choose which Sovereigns you want to include into the Crown for your game. This can be fun for Death Summoners who wished to be more adventurous. The minimum amount of Sovereigns to put into the Crown should be at least equal to the amount of Players in the session. For example, if you’re playing with 4 Players, try to include at least 4 Sovereigns in the Crown (excluding Kadmon). Of course, since it’s ‘Build Your Own Crown’ you can ignore this recommendation.
Build Your Own Crown can be fun when played with more experienced Players. In this format, Unit Type strength can be skewed, making one strategy more advantageous than the other.
Playtime: It depends
Recommended Players: 2+ Players
